The Fanvil W712 gateway/controller is built for effective IP paging and intercom use, with Ethernet LAN data rates of 10, 100 and 1000 Mbit/s and full duplex operation. It provides extensive SIP protocol compatibility (SIP v1 RFC2543 and SIP v2 RFC3261) across UDP, TCP and TLS, so it works with a range of VoIP systems.

With sophisticated voice codecs such as G.711a/u, G.722, G.729A/B and OPUS, the unit produces clear, high-quality audio for both narrowband and broadband speech coding. DTMF signalling is supported through in-band, out-of-band (RFC2833) and SIP Info methods.

Intended for indoor use, the W712 has a sturdy aluminium alloy casing measuring 113x83x28 mm and weighing 250g. It functions dependably between -30 and 70 °C and at relative humidity from 10% to 95%. LED indicators allow network and status monitoring, and web-based management is available along with reset and syslog functions.

For connectivity, there are two Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports and a WAN connection via Ethernet (RJ-45). It also provides 3.5 mm headphone and microphone interfaces, a control display unit, and supports VLAN, VPN (L2TP/OpenVPN) and multicast protocols. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support makes installation simpler by supplying power through the network cable.
