Their design features the refined HD vibration function, delivering far more lifelike vibration than previously possible, and lets you hold one in each hand or share one with a friend; they can also be slotted into the Joy-Con grip (sold separately), turning them into a conventional-style controller. Every Joy-Con has its own buttons, accelerometer sensor and motion sensor, so it can work as a standalone controller.

What's more, the Joy-Con brings new functions that make Nintendo Switch more interactive. Firstly, the left Joy-Con includes a capture button for taking screenshots while you play and sharing them on social networks. The right Joy-Con, meanwhile, features an NFC point for using amiibo figures, along with an infrared motion camera that picks up the distance, shape and movement of nearby objects in games built for this technology.
