Apple iPhone 14 Pro 256GB Silver
iPhone 14 Pro
There is nothing more professional than this.
Built to endure
The latest flagship from Cupertino sets out to earn the title of "finest smartphone." Equipped with Apple's newest A16 Bionic chip, it keeps the superb 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen seen on the previous model. This textured matte glass finish comes in space black, silver, gold and dark purple, with the Apple logo always on show. It includes a pair of stereo speakers placed at the top of the display and the bottom of the frame. It keeps the Lightning connector for charging. Connectivity is completed by dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2x2 MIMO), Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. It carries an IP68 rating against dust and water, promising to survive immersion in up to 6 metres of water for 30 minutes. Bear in mind that the warranty does not cover water damage, so it is best not to submerge it, particularly if it has already taken any knock that might have compromised the seal.
Permanent lock screen
The lock screen is now constantly on view. One quick look and you are up to date on what matters without touching a thing. Naturally, if you set the iPhone face down or slip it into your pocket, the display switches off to conserve battery. It is a phone with plenty of strengths. All-day battery life even with the new functions. I managed around 8 hours of screen-on time with Always On Display enabled, a feature that can raise battery use by roughly 10%, a small price for always having information on screen. Clearly, this is something we can turn off if we do not use it and therefore gain more battery life, although we can easily get two days of battery life and avoid charging it every night.
Accident Detection
The iPhone 14 Pro detects whether you have been in a serious car crash and contacts the emergency services. It also notifies your emergency contacts. You can go cycling, diving or enjoy your favourite sport without worrying about being stranded on the mountain. The iPhone looks after your physical safety.
Quad Pixel sensor in Triple camera
The main camera's Quad Pixel sensor gets the most out of its 48 megapixels by adapting to whatever you are shooting. When taking photos, capturing as much light as possible is ideal. That is why the new sensor merges four pixels into one large pixel, quadrupling light capture. As a result, your images keep the practical 12MP format but appear to come from another dimension.
There are situations where detail matters most, and that is where the sensor uses every single pixel. This will be superb for giving you more creative options if you are a pro at photography and editing. After the ideal balance between detail and flexibility? Then ProRAW at 48MP resolution is the answer. In addition, a new machine learning model produces images with less noise and absolute sharpness. This lets you reframe your photos while still keeping incredible resolution. Creative control is entirely yours.
A16 Bionic chip
Almost 16 billion transistors provide industry-leading speed and efficiency. A faster 6-core CPU takes on the most demanding tasks with ease. 17 trillion operations per second from the Neural Engine allow pixel-by-pixel analysis to optimise your photos. 50% more memory bandwidth in the 5-core GPU lets you handle complex graphics in the most advanced mobile games. An advanced image signal processor multiplies the creative possibilities of the Quad Pixel sensor. Impressive efficiency. The A16 Bionic runs at supersonic speeds for longer.
Owing to Apple's policy of reducing CO2 emissions, this iPhone does not include a charger or headphones in the original box.
