In cinema, a technique is used that involves shifting focus selectively to direct the audience's attention to the main subject of each scene. And now with iPhone you can use this same narrative device in your videos. Once upon a time in Hollywood, but for everyone.

Cinematic mode automatically creates beautiful depth effects and focus transitions. When you start recording in Cinematic mode, iPhone focuses on the subject and blurs the background to create an incredible depth-of-field effect. When it senses a new subject is about to enter the scene, Cinematic mode shifts focus automatically. You can even adjust the depth of field after you finish recording. If you're not happy with the focus or want to adjust the blur, no problem. Just tap here and slide there and it's done. Not even professional cinema cameras can do that. Cinematic mode records videos in HDR with Dolby Vision.

Night mode detects low-light environments and automatically adjusts settings to give you brighter photos with rich colours. Portrait mode blurs the background and makes the subject stand out. You can slide between six lighting effects to choose your favourite. Smart HDR 4 now recognises up to four different people in the frame and optimises contrast, lighting and skin tone independently. The best of each, but looking even better. Deep Fusion activates in low-light environments and analyses multiple exposures pixel by pixel to capture all textures and details, no matter how tiny. Ultra-wide expands the field of view even when you're focusing on something very close. So everything fits in the image without having to step back. Memories are slideshows created automatically from your best photos. You can personalise them as you like and add a soundtrack with songs from your library.

A camera with as much style as you. Introducing Photographic Styles. Styles are so smart that they adjust colours up or down while keeping skin tones natural.

With Photographic Styles you can put your personal stamp on photos. Unlike filters, styles apply the necessary adjustments to each area of the image, without altering skin tones. Choose Vibrant to add luminosity and brightness to photos, Rich Contrast for darker shadows and more vivid colours, and Cool or Warm to accentuate blue or golden undertones. That's what we call having style.
