The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 mark a notable step forward within the premium True Wireless earbud segment. They incorporate a Hi-Res dual-motor acoustic design, ANC 3.0 intelligent noise cancelling and sophisticated connectivity through Bluetooth 6.0 alongside NearLink (StarFlash) technology.

This version delivers high-fidelity audio with compatibility for LDAC and L2HC 4.0 codecs, as well as IP57 certification for protection against dust and brief immersion in water.

Dual-motor acoustic architecture

The Hi-Res Dual-Driver audio setup comprises an 11 mm dynamic driver with four magnets for deep bass frequencies (from 10 Hz) and a micro-planar tweeter able to reproduce high frequencies up to 48 kHz.

Active digital frequency division is managed by a dual DAC, enabling each frequency range to be processed separately to enhance clarity and prevent interference between bass and treble.

Lossless wireless transmission

FreeBuds Pro 5 support high-resolution codecs such as LDAC and L2HC 4.0. In the global version they reach a transmission rate of up to 2.3 Mbps.

When paired with NearLink-compatible Huawei devices featuring Kirin A3 or higher processors, they can achieve a transmission rate of up to 4.6 Mbps, improving wireless audio fidelity.

ANC 3.0 noise cancellation with AI

Active noise cancellation employs the Dual-Engine ANC system, backed by the MIMO AI Sensing algorithm. This technology boosts noise-cancelling computational power by up to 220% compared to previous generations.

The system relies on three high-sensitivity microphones and a bone conduction sensor (VPU) that detects voice vibrations to improve call quality and reduce wind noise up to speeds of 10 m/s.

Includes different operating modes:

• Ultra: maximum noise cancellation.
• General: balance between isolation and comfort.
• Cozy: Soft reduction for quiet environments.
• Attention and Voice Mode: allows you to listen to your surroundings without removing the headphones.

Bluetooth 6.0 and NearLink technology

Connectivity is based on Bluetooth 6.0, optimised to improve signal stability and reduce power consumption.

The headphones allow simultaneous connection to two devices (Android, iOS or Windows), making it easy to switch between smartphone, computer or tablet.

NearLink (StarFlash) technology reduces latency and improves bit rate in scenarios such as gaming or Hi-Fi playback.

Control is via pinch and swipe gestures on the stem, with sensitivity adjusted to avoid accidental activation.

Compact design and IP57 resistance

The headphones are approximately 6% lighter and 10% more compact than the previous generation. The Silver Frost finish uses a matte metallic coating to reduce the appearance of fingerprints.

They are IP57 certified, allowing for dust resistance and temporary submersion in fresh water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. The charging case maintains IP54 certification.

Battery life and charging

Each earpiece integrates a 60 mAh battery, while the case incorporates a 537 mAh battery.

Battery life is up to:

• Up to 9 hours of continuous use without ANC.
• Up to 6 hours with ANC on.
• Up to 38 hours total with the case (ANC off).
• Up to 25 hours total with ANC on.

The case supports fast charging via USB-C, offering approximately 2 hours of playback with only 10 minutes of charging, plus support for Qi wireless charging.
