The Sony WH-1000XM5 is a premium wireless headset that combines sophisticated noise cancelling, a 30mm diaphragm and as much as 30 hours of battery life, all wrapped in a comfortable, understated Midnight Blue design with clever functions including adaptive sound control and Speak-to-Chat technology.

Automatic NC optimiser

Four microphones are fitted in each ear cup of the Sony WH-1000XM5 so that ambient sound is captured more precisely. Depending on how the headphones are worn and on external conditions such as atmospheric pressure, the automatic NC optimiser adjusts the Noise Cancelling performance by itself.

30 mm diaphragm for quality sound

All of this comes with a 30 mm diaphragm featuring a soft edge and improved Noise Cancelling for accurate music listening. The dome, light yet rigid, is built from carbon fibre composite material, which enhances sound clarity, particularly at high frequencies.

Precise Voice Pickup Technology

Precise Voice Pickup technology is included in the Sony WH-1000XM5. It uses four multi-directional microphones together with an AI-based noise reduction algorithm to isolate your voice accurately. Thanks to its new noise reduction structure, noise during calls is minimised so that your voice comes through clearly.

Comfortable, minimalist design

These lightweight headphones come in Midnight Blue with a gold Sony logo on top of each earcup, giving them a premium look and feel alongside the minimalist design and quality materials. They also feature a soft leather finish that wraps around the head, reducing pressure on the ears and blocking out external sounds.

Intelligent adaptive sound

An intelligent adaptive sound control function is on board, detecting where you are and what you are doing in order to create the ideal listening experience according to the ambient sound. Once activated, it learns from your behaviour and recognises the places you visit most often, adapting the sound to each situation.

Speak-to-chat

When you begin talking, Speak-to-Chat technology pauses the music and lets ambient sound through, which is handy if you would rather not remove your headphones or your hands are occupied. Built-in microphones and an advanced audio signal processing system allow this smart feature to recognise and respond to your voice. Music starts again once you have finished speaking. Should you take them off, the music pauses too, as a capacitive sensor detects whether they are being worn or not.

30-hour battery life and fast charging

Up to 30 hours of battery life is offered by this model, providing enough power even for travelling. What is more, a 3-minute quick charge delivers up to 3 additional hours.

Touch control

Intuitive touch control is available on the Sony WH-1000XM5. You can, for instance, press the button on the left side to switch between Noise Cancelling and Ambient Sound modes, or use the touchpad on the right side to play or pause music, skip tracks, change the volume and much more.
